Privacy Policy

This page explains what data Juniper Handyman Estimator collects, why, and what choices you have. It describes how the site actually works rather than restating generic boilerplate.

The short version

• You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name or email to use the estimator.
• Your saved estimates stay in your own browser. They are not uploaded to us.
• We show ads through Google AdSense, which uses cookies.
• We use privacy-respecting analytics only if you accept the cookie notice.

Estimates you create

Projects, line items, room names and notes you enter are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. They are not transmitted to our servers, we cannot read them, and clearing your browser data deletes them permanently. There is no cloud sync and no account system.

The AI features

Some optional features send the project details you have entered (trade, size, material tier, and any scope notes you type) to a large language model in order to generate an analysis. Those requests are routed through Vercel AI Gateway to a model provider. Do not enter personal information, client names, addresses or anything confidential into those fields. If you would rather not use them, simply do not click the AI buttons; the estimator works fully without them.

Advertising and cookies

This site is supported by advertising. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this and other sites on the internet.

• Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on this site and use cookies of their own.

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland

Where required, a consent message is shown before personalised advertising or analytics cookies are set, and the site signals your choice to Google using Consent Mode. Declining does not restrict your use of the estimator. You can change your analytics choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which makes the notice appear again.

Analytics

If you accept the analytics notice, we record aggregate usage — which pages are viewed and which trades are estimated most often — so we know what to improve. If you decline, no analytics cookie is set.

Server logs and security

This site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard request data such as IP address, user agent and requested URL in order to serve the page and protect against abuse. We use automated bot detection on the AI endpoints for the same reason.

Children

This site is intended for adults planning home improvement work and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your rights and contact

Because we do not hold an account or profile for you, there is generally nothing for us to export or erase — your data is on your device. For questions about this policy, or to raise a data request relating to advertising or analytics, contact support@juniperhandyman.com.
